River Levels

The River Derwent at Matlock - At a height of 0.65m the river is at a good level - with 'Killer' being covered. At 1.25 egress is impossible at the steps below the slalom course, and there is no egress 'river left'. At such levels this stretch should not be attempted!

The River Trent above Swarkestone - At a height of 1.00m the river is at a decent level for touring, and the rapids at Swarkestone are good for whitewater training. At higer levels the rapids become washed out.
